The Nigerian Police Force has paraded a five man gang suspected to be involve in the killing of one Custom Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs, Aliyu Dayyab on December 22 2016 at the Lagos Tincan area.

The Federal Government has approved the secondment of Alhaji Usman Gur Mohammed of the African Development Bank (AfDB) as the interim Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

A statement by Mr Louis Edozien, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, said Muhammed’s appointment was part of efforts by government to reposition the company for better service delivery to Nigerians.
It said that Mohammed has resumed duty with a 12-month non-extendable deadline to complete his transformational mandate and set Transmission Service Providers and Independent System Operators on a path of greater operational efficiency and effectiveness.
It also said that his approval was designed to ensure responsiveness to the needs of the generation companies and distribution companies, who are TCN’s customers.
It said Mohammed was until his secondment, the Principal Power Utility Transformation Specialist in the AfDB’s Nigerian Office.

The Nigerian Police on Thursday announced the arrest of 17 suspects allegedly involved in the recent killings in Kafanchan, Kaduna State.
The Kafanchan killing is part of the larger violence in Southern Kaduna that has led to the death of over 200 people in the past few months.
The violence, which has sometimes taken a religious dimension, is largely between herdsmen and host farming communities.
