Seasoned Nigerian comedian Julius Agwu has explained the reason behind his recent donation to American families during Thanksgiving.
The entertainer had earlier shared photos via Instagram of him giving out turkeys to families in Riverdale,
Atlanta under the aegis of his Julius Agwu Foundation.
Speaking exclusively to NET, the comedian’s publicist said the act was in line with the philosophy of serving God and humanity.
He said: “This gesture is in line with the vision and mission of Julius Agwu Foundation Inc. worldwide with our motto being For God & Humanity.
“We chose to give back to a community that has been very supportive of our [Nigerian] community and businesses in the United States. This community is a home to probably the highest concentration of people of Nigerian descent in the State of Georgia, and it may also interest you to know that we have the only officially recognized Yoruba
traditional ruler in the US HRM Oba Shola Akinrimsi the Oriade of Georgia with staff of office from the Mayor of Riverdale resides in the City of Riverdale. The Oba was one of the dignitaries that attended the thanksgiving give-away,” he ended.
